The Foundation of Lifelong Wellness

Preventive care is designed to catch concerns early and support steady, long-term health. These routine services give us the opportunity to track changes, adjust recommendations, and keep your pet on the right path year after year.

Wellness Exams

Comprehensive physical exams allow us to evaluate everything from weight trends to subtle physical changes that may not be obvious at home.

Vaccinations

We tailor vaccine recommendations based on your pet’s age, lifestyle, and exposure risk to provide targeted, responsible protection.

Parasite Prevention

Year-round prevention helps guard against fleas, ticks, heartworms, and intestinal parasites common to the Vero Beach area.

Microchipping

A microchip provides permanent identification that dramatically increases the chances of a safe return if your pet is ever lost.

Health Certificates

We perform required examinations and documentation to ensure pets meet domestic travel guidelines and timing requirements.

Screening Tests

Routine bloodwork and diagnostic screenings help identify internal changes early, often before symptoms are visible.

Advanced Veterinary Care and Diagnostics

Some health concerns require more than routine care. Our team provides surgical and diagnostic services designed to restore comfort, improve health, and support your pet’s quality of life.

Dental Care

Oral health affects far more than breath — it can impact comfort, nutrition, and even organ health. Our dental services include professional cleanings, digital imaging when needed, and extractions performed with careful attention to pain management and recovery.

Spay & Neuter

Spaying and neutering support both your pet’s long-term health and responsible pet ownership. Each procedure is performed with individualized anesthetic protocols and attentive monitoring to ensure safety and a smooth recovery.

Soft Tissue Surgery

From mass removals to internal procedures, soft tissue surgery requires careful planning and experience. We evaluate each case thoroughly, discuss treatment options with you, and create a clear surgical and recovery plan before moving forward.

Diagnostic Testing

When symptoms are unclear, diagnostics help provide answers. With in-house laboratory testing, digital radiology, and access to mobile ultrasound services, we can gather important information quickly to guide treatment decisions.

Allergies & Dermatology

Chronic itching, hair loss, and recurring ear infections often require a step-by-step approach. We work to identify potential triggers — environmental, dietary, or otherwise — and develop practical management plans that help keep symptoms under control.

End-of-Life Care

When it’s time to consider comfort-focused care, our team provides calm guidance and compassionate support. We walk families through their options at a pace that feels right, prioritizing dignity and minimizing stress for both pets and their people.

Community TNVR Program for Outdoor Cats

Dr. Dan’s Animal Hospital supports Trap–Neuter–Vaccinate–Return (TNVR) efforts that help manage community cat populations while improving the health of outdoor cats. Through our partnership with the nonprofit Indian River Animal Advocates, eligible cats receive essential veterinary care before being safely returned to their outdoor environment.

To help sustain this program and continue providing care for community cats, we charge $75 per cat.

TNVR services include:

  • Spay or neuter surgery
  • Rabies vaccination
  • Microchip
  • Application of flea treatment and intestinal parasite dewormer
  • Left ear tip to identify sterilized community cats

Trap rental is available with a $70 credit card deposit, and cats must arrive in a humane trap for their appointment. This program is available to Indian River County residents only.
